Component 1: Irrigation Service Provision (US$135.80 million equivalent, including US$85.80 million equivalent IDA)

  • Develop bulk irrigation and drainage infrastructure in the SVIP Phase 1 area.
    • Preparation of detailed designs and construction supervision and quality assurance;
    • Construction of the physical bulk water conveyance and main distribution system, major drainage and service and access roads;
    • Construction of a fish barrier structure;
    • Provisions will be made for the SVIP Phase 2 area in terms of canal dimensions, right of way, and preparatory studies;
    • Support the establishment of a professional management, operation and maintenance system for the scheme;
    • Construction will follow a modular approach starting with the Intake & 6km of MC1, followed by MC1 and MC2, MC3 and secondary canals, etc.
