The Deputy Minister of Lands, Honorable Abida Mia MP, on 21st September, 2020 handed over the Chikwawa Physical Development Plan to the Chikwawa District Council.  Development of the Development Plan was funded by the Shire Valley Transformation Programme-1.  The The Chikwawa Physical Development Plan (CPDP)  is the first comprehensive Physical Development Plan to be prepared for Chikwawa District.  The Plan provides a comprehensive guide for orderly and coordinated physical development of land in the District. The Plan has been prepared under the land reform program activities which among others, intended to assist in piloting the implementation of new land laws (2016).  Download and read the plan on this page.
